A brighter day dawned for a trip to Elie, so close to Braid’s birthplace, though not one his own course designs. Master organiser was Tommy Brown, who raised 12 locals for what was their first social match of the year. Once again, the club went the extra mile to enable the match to go ahead. But on this occasion the weather played ball, and allowed us to meet outside for a light lunch, then play began on a course in prime condition. What a pleasure!

Tommy hacks it back off the beach – local knowledge is ALWAYS so useful.
All matches were closely contested, each side gaining 2 wins and 2 halves, so the result was a 3-3 tie. The Golf House Club narrowly avoided the dubious distinction of becoming the only club to lose to the JBGS – in living memory!
